AECBytes Architecture Engineering Construction Newsletters

An Open Letter to Readers

I started writing for Cadence magazine in April 2001, two and a half years ago. I first took on the biweekly AEC Tech newsletter, and gradually started writing product reviews and feature articles as well. Since then, I have covered a vast array of software products and issues related to technology for the building industry. I have also had the pleasure of hearing directly from many of you with feedback, inputs, questions, and often, just some words of appreciation. Over and above the intellectual pleasures of working and writing in my chosen field, it is my interaction with you that has been the most enriching and rewarding aspect of my writing career.

Cadence magazine was acquired by Cadalyst on Oct 31 2003 and no longer exists. Rather than move on to Cadalyst, I am launching my own online publication, AECbytes, to continue with and expand upon the writing I was doing at Cadence. This publication will be focused on technology for the building industry, and in addition to an e-mail newsletter, I plan to also write product reviews, case studies on the use of technology by AEC firms, comparative analysis of products, new technologies, and other feature articles.

This publication can only succeed with your support. Please subscribe to it, and spread the word to your colleagues as well. The inaugural issue of the AECbytes newsletter will feature Part 2 of the AIA-TAP conference, Part 1 of which appeared as the last issue of my Cadence AEC Tech newsletter.

Thank you
